Daily Inspiration is now available on the Google Play Store!

It took some serious patience, but I finally got my second app published to the Play Store. Thanks to my perseverance, I found an easy way through the publishing process.

First, I reused the featured image screenshot for each of the required images for the play store listing. I also made a copy of the featured image with dimensions 1024 x 500 to meet 7 inch and 10 inch tablet screenshot requirements.

After this, I rolled the app out to production! Now it’s live! Looks like you can spam images for play store listings. They don’t have to be different.

Now to be fair, I only did this to get the app published and be DONE with this process. I know the images don’t reflect the full scope of the app, but I can always edit them later. For now, the app is out there in the world. But this gave me an idea!

Moving forward, I’m going to start by publishing the base Hello World app displayed in new Android Studio projects. I know, it sounds weird. But hear me out.

Instead of spending weeks banging my head against the wall during the app publishing process, I can get it out of the way early! I’ll make a series of “Coming Soon” images for the play store and a short description of the app. I can make a simple app icon with the name of the app and use that too. This will give me enough to get it on the Play Store.

Then, as I work on the project, I can generate new bundles and update the play store accordingly. Like building a house! I’ll start by getting the app approved and actually update it later.
