Is Software Testing Right for Me?
I wasn’t too sure about a future in testing. So I did some research!
And it turns out, I don’t want to do it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m good at automation and hacking together tests. I just don’t feel as passionate about it as I did when I first started. The more I delved into my research, the less appealing testing became. Finishing my paper became more of a chore than an exercise in career development.
Testing isn’t flexible like development. Coming up with an idea, doing research, putting something together and failing until it’s done is what I love the most! And I just don’t see that in software testing. This is what got me into development, and I feel like my heart is still in it.
I’m glad I did this research. It’s the best way to figure out if a career path is right for you. And what I found in my research might help others, namely, you the reader. At least now I’m certain I want to transition into development soon. I’m glad I did my homework on this.
